Mount Avernia, Singapore - Off Site Engineering Project

The concept of this project is to build two complete operating theatres in a modular containerized unit.  These set of containers will then sit on a pre-fabricated concrete platform built on the 4^th floor of the hospital. The platform is built parallel to the existing operating theatres.  An opening will be made to the clean and dirty corridor.

          The whole story started way back in August 2005 when we nominated to carry out the Operating theatre expansion plan. We have been bidding for this job since 2004. We were chosen simply because the idea we had proposed was unique in this part of the world and the biggest problem we solved was time to construct and complete.

By building the platform and the containerized operating theatre simultaneously at two separate locations, we were able to dramatically reduced the construction period, not to mention reducing the obstruction caused by general construction work at site. As we all know, “downtime” is a major issue in the hospital industry.
